Admitted procrastinator, yoga pants junkie and tofu eater. I work part time, and parent full time. I am the married mother of two beautiful kids, one toddler and one just finishing kindergarten. My favorite family activities include road trips, day hikes, watching movies and taking a bazillion pictures. My husband and I enjoy barbecues, pushing each others buttons and shopping in Seattle.

I didn't grow up rich, so I can clip coupons and price-match like nobody's business. I was raised in a semi-rural area and reside there still today. Although I grew up on two acres, I seem to have a black thumb. I hope that changes this summer! I finished high school in 2002 and finishing college is on hold for now. Time and energy are of short supply as of this moment, but some day I will have a shiny, expensive diploma to hang on my wall.

In the mean time, I continue my quest to raise my family in a happy, healthy, green environment. There's always new adventures to be had here in the northwest, and this Bigfoot mama will document and share with you my wins and fails along the way.

“I have three kids!!” I feel like that is the first thing I should say to people lest they cast judgment on my ponytail hair and lack of make-up. My oldest daughter was born in 2003, my son in 2009, and sweet baby girl born in 2011. I am new to having 3 kids. It’s still overwhelming to leave the house, or shower. I work part time and still surprise myself with the number of pajama days I fit into every week. I have been married since 2002. The Hubbs and I took the expedited route to family life; Big Sis was born only 5 months after our wedding. The only time I have spent out of the Northwest was when Hubbs, who was in the United States Navy at the time, got stationed in Southern California for 3 years. The sun was nice. I liked tanning on the beach on my hour long lunch breaks from work and driving with the sun roof open year round. The people were not my style. I am a true Northwest Girl. I like hiking and outdoors. Even as a child I preferred mud pies to Barbie dolls. I learned to use a compass at Girl Scout camp and my Dad taught me to use a knife on his fishing boat. I like my kids dirty so bath times can be splashy.

I have always loved blogs. I have read them for years. One thing has seemed clear, none of these women have flaws! I have spent hours reading blogs from the most perfect people on the planet. I am not one of them. I try to take humor in my less graceful moments; I hope I can share them in a way that others find humor in it too. There is nothing quite like shedding a tear while picking vomit out of the carpet or over a freshly changed diaper that is now a pooey puddle. Except looking back on it later and realizing there is no reason to cry over spilled milk. Well, unless it is the 6 ounces you just pumped.

My life is never perfect, but it is always mine.
